For the manufacture of DIY bee costume you need four things: bodykit, skirt, bee horns and wings.
Let’s start with the bodykit.
So you take any bodykit, put it on the cloth and drag the contours, for greater accuracy use pins to attach the body to cloth and gently draw sleeves and neckline! You should have two patterns: front and back :-)
You need black cloth and the yellow stripes :-)
After drawing the bodykit on the fabric, cut out the pattern pieces! Do not forget that at the edges you should make seam allowances!
Next, take a black jersey and mark up the future strips, cut them and applied to the cloth by a distance!
Before topstitch on yellow cloth, baste each stripe with a thread, whatever you like! Necessarily iron lapels!
Again put stripes on our basis.
Then sew them and get striped happiness!
Protruding ends are trimmed by the edge of bodykit! Sew the two halves on the shoulders and sides.
Here is preliminary check on the model!
Now make the neck, sleeves and bottom! You can insert a thin ribbon in the edging of neck for beauty :-)
Sew buttons or put rivets on the bottom of the bodykit:-)
Again pre-model :-)
Voila! Bodykit is ready!
For the skirt you take two strips of yellow tulle of different width, sew with the sewing machine, paste an elastic! Sew a black ribbon around the edge :-) On the sleeves you can sew the undulating sleeves :-)
On a normal rim you attach wires, wrapped with a black cloth and sew on the top two yellow balls!
Fenders are also of wire. Make frame, then put black stockings on and from socks make body. Make a decoration on fabric with paint and glitter and our wings are ready! You can sew them to the body or they can be attached with elastic :-)
I do believe that bee costumes are among the best, they are pretty harmless, and the colors do not hurt the eyes
Great bee costume! I would love to do it myself to my daughter!
