There are numerous reports of the high efficiency of water extracts of propolis, some argue that the aqueous propolis extract is even better than alcohol tinctures. In any case, it is well established that antibiotic substances of propolis do not lose their therapeutic properties even after prolonged boiling.

It is usually prepared 20% aqueous propolis. Take 20 g of propolis (peeled and crushed, as always when making propolis drugs), pour 80 ml of boiling water, mix thoroughly, put in a water bath for 1-3 hours, cover with a lid, but occasionally stir. After the water bath the broth of propolis in the hot is filtered through a thin layer of cotton wool, embedded into the funnel. Cotton with the remainings of propolis you can throw. The broth is cooled. If the wax passes through the filter, it freezes on the surface of the broth, and it is removed. So you get the light yellow slightly cloudy liquid, and which is applicable. It should be stored in a dark container, tightly closed, in refrigerator or other cool place, and not more than a week.

Because the aqueous propolis is taken in large quantities for a long time (usually take 1-3 tablespoons of infusion three times a day before meals and drink a month or more to complete the recovery), you canprepare at a time  400 ml of infusion . To do this, take 100 grams of propolis. Buy on the market crumbly propolis, with impurities of wax, wood shavings, chips, then you will be assured that such propolis was not boiled.
